Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program Part I Crime (Annual)

The UCR is a state and federal standard for tracking crime statistics. The police department voluntarily participates in this program.
(January 2008 - December 2019)
The UCR Program is a useful indicator of whether crime is increasing or decreasing. The graph below shows the number of Part 1 Crimes reported. Part 1 Crimes include: murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny, motor vehicle theft.

Office of Professional Standards Statistics

This is a division within the police department that tracks complaints and commendations. Below is an example of categories it tracks.
(January 2014 - May 2020)
These include incidents where suspects in vehicles flee and or try to elude law enforcement.
Citizen-Initiated Bureau Investigations
Investigations generated by a citizen or a police supervisor to address an officer’s alleged misconduct and/or inefficiency. They are investigated by the officer’s immediate supervisor.
Office of Professional Standards Investigations
Office of Professional Standards are investigations generated by either citizens or the Chief of Police to review serious allegations of officer/ police employee misconduct.
Commendations are official positive recognition of police officers for actions that go above ordinary duties.
